Sign my petition to guarantee the Veterans Railcard and Armed Forces Railcard

During yesterday's Railway Bill Committee, Labour repeatedly voted against guaranteeing both the Veterans Railcard and the Armed Forces Railcard in law.

In response to Conservative amendments, the Government argued that they could be trusted not to scrap these railcards in the future and that adding them to the legislation was unnecessary. At the same time, Labour is insisting that discounts for the young, the elderly, and disabled passengers should be written into law.

We don’t trust the Government not to change its mind later. We’ve seen it time and time again since Labour came into power - saying one thing and doing another.

If you want to see the Veterans Railcard and Armed Forces Railcard guaranteed in the legislation creating a new national railway, please sign my petition below
