It was great to mark #CommonwealthDay by visiting the Commonwealth War Graves Commission exhibition and attending the annual Commonwealth flag raising ceremony in Parliament.
Commonwealth Day serves to promote the shared values and unity of our Commonwealth family, celebrating its rich diversity across five continents, and fostering international cooperation and understanding.
Having worked for CWGC for 6 years, I have been keen to raise the profile of this special organisation in Parliament. The work of the CWGC reminds us of the immense sacrifice Commonwealth countries have made coming to Britain's aid in times of war. Today, many Commonwealth Soldiers continue to serve valiantly in the British Armed Forces.
