A new 16-bed Major Trauma Ward has opened at Derriford Hospital, funded by the last Conservative Government.
This major investment will transform how Derriford treats life-threatening injuries. The state-of-the-art hospital ward will save lives, reduce patients' length of stay, improve their experience, and enhance independence once discharged from hospital. The major trauma team do heroic work saving lives - they now have the tools for the job.
We can all see the need for investment across our NHS. I have fought hard to protect Derriford's Emergency Care Unit from Labour cuts. The opening of the Major Treatment Ward unlocks another key piece of that jigsaw.
