Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to attend the APPG on Family Hubs meeting, supported by Spurgeons, where the focus was on ‘Funding Family Hubs and the return on investment’.
As someone who has previously hosted a Family Hubs Network showcase event in Parliament, it was great to reconnect with this vital work.
Family Hubs are making a real difference for children and families in South West Devon - particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Just before the election, I visited the The Rees Centre Family and Wellbeing Hub, managed by Barnardo's, alongside my predecessor Sir Gary Streeter, and saw first-hand the impact of these services.
It was encouraging to see the dedication of so many partners and stakeholders working together to promote joined-up, local family support services.
The discussions highlighted how strategic investment in Family Hubs not only improves outcomes for families but also transforms lives, delivering lasting social and economic returns for communities.
Looking forward to continuing this important work with everyone involved!
