Fantastic Armed Forces Day on Plymouth Hoe today!
I always love spending time at Armed Forces Day, catching up with familiar faces and meeting new people too!
Really enjoyed chatting with a number of local veterans groups including the South Atlantic Medal Association (Devon and Cornwall), Help For Heroes and the Royal British Legion. Great to see the RAF Harrowbeer team again too. I’m looking forward to their next 1940s weekend at Yelverton on August 16th and 17th.
Lovely to chat with the ladies at Girlguiding Devon again and the Ocean City Radio team.
Rev Hannah Freeland, the minister at Hooe Baptist Church in Plymstock is the Lord Mayor’s Chaplin this year so it was great bump into her.
And I got another sit in one of the incredible Supacat Jackal vehicles being manufactured by Babcock International Group in Plymouth!
Well done to everyone who took part today, to all the serving members of the armed forces and our wonderful local veterans. I hope you felt appreciated and celebrated today!
