It was great to attend the opening of Ivybridge Police Station with the Chief Constable James Vaughan, Ivybridge Town Council Mayor Cllr Alan Spencer, Police Enquiry Officers Matt and Kevin, and other local leaders.
According to plans, Ivybridge's reopened station will be available to members of the public six days a week (between 10am and 3pm), providing a much wider policing resource and support for victims of crime.
It's the 14th Conservative-funded local desk opened by Police and Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez, with 50 new Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) next in the pipeline!
The rural west side of the constituency is often forgotten by those in positions of authority - something I have been keen to correct. I am so pleased that Alison and Devon & Cornwall Police have recognised the need for a greater police presence in Ivybridge and the surrounding area.
