Last night I spoke on the Railways Bill to stand up for passengers in South West Devon.
Rail users in South West Devon deserve a system that works for them. Yet the Government’s plan for Great British Railways risks taking us backwards, weakening independent regulation and pushing out private investment.
In my speech, I pressed for passengers to be put first and highlighted the importance of local connectivity such as extending the platform at Ivybridge so more trains can stop and progressing plans for a station at Plympton as part of a wider Plymouth metro.
