Campaigning for the Tavistock line and Ivybridge platform extension!
Plymouth is being promised 25,000 new defence jobs. Many of these new workers will live in towns outside of Plymouth, such as Sherford, Ivybridge and Tavistock, requiring substantial investment in public transport.
I recently asked the Labour Rail Minister why the Government are not considering vital rail projects in the South West. This includes a new line from Plymouth to Tavistock and the extension of the platform at Ivybridge Station to allow for more services to stop.
We cannot create local jobs in a vacuum. I will keep pushing for the rail investment our region deserves.
