This week marks Baby Loss Awareness Week, a time to remember the babies who are no longer with us and to stand with the families who have experienced such profound loss.
On average, 13 babies die shortly before, during or soon after birth every day in the UK alone. Behind each statistic is a family navigating unimaginable heartbreak.
There is a debate in Parliament today to raise awareness and continue pressing for improved bereavement care and support. While I am sadly unable to attend, I fully support the vital work being done to ensure that every family receives the compassion, understanding, and care they deserve. I’m looking forward to joining our local Pregnancy Crisis Centre at their fundraising ball soon.
