Congratulations to the team at HM Naval Base Devonport for a fantastic Day 1 of the Naval Base Open Days!
It was great to see so many Naval Base staff, military personnel, Babcock International Group staff and others from across the Base community there and loads of local community groups too. Well done to two constituents - James and John (pictured!) - who organised the event with their team!
Special mention for the team from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission including my old line manager. Always good to see them.
I also got to meet a robotic dog, had a tour around HMS Portland and enjoyed The Bands of HM Royal Marines Beat the Retreat to end the afternoon.
If you’re fortunate to have a ticket for tomorrow, don’t leave too soon as the Royal Marine Band finish things off at 5.30pm!
