Today is International Men’s Day, an important moment to recognise the wellbeing and challenges facing men and boys across the UK.
Whether it’s the 14 men we lose to suicide every single day, boys falling behind in education, new dads finding their feet, or the thousands of men affected by homelessness, violence or poor health, these issues touch families everywhere and stands as a reminder of why we must keep challenging the stigma that stops so many men from asking for help.
I’m particularly grateful for the brilliant charities working on the ground, especially the work of Andys Man Club Plympton, which meets every Monday at 7pm at The Rees Centre Family and Wellbeing Hub in Plympton.
If you’re struggling, please reach out. And if you know someone who might be, check in. A small conversation can make a huge difference.
