Parliament will be back in just a few weeks…
And when it returns, Andy Burnham will finally face questions from MPs about the Government’s decision on Local Government Reorganisation in Devon.
Whilst I hope everyone is managing to enjoy the summer, I haven’t forgotten about this issue and I know many of you haven’t either.
I still believe the Government has got this wrong. In the South Hams, 13 parishes will become part of an expanded Plymouth authority. In the West Devon part of my constituency, representation will fall from five councillors to three across two much larger wards - one stretching from Walkhampton to Lydford, and the other from Horrabridge and Buckland Monachorum all the way to Bere Ferrers.
When Parliament returns, I’ll be looking for answers about what this will mean for communities across the South Hams and West Devon.
