It was great to meet with Shiona Rolfe, the new Managing Director of CrossCountry trains, in Westminster earlier this week to discuss improving train services for Ivybridge!
I’m really encouraged by Shiona’s support for the work I’ve been doing to secure better provision at Ivybridge Station. We’re both committed to working together over the months ahead to make this happen.
To allow more trains to stop at Ivybridge, the station needs a longer platform and I’m really pleased that funding has already been identified by South Hams District Council to help get this moving.
Many of you will remember that improving Ivybridge’s rail links was a key message in my maiden speech and a central pledge in my election campaign. With better rail links meaning better access to jobs, education and opportunities, this remains a priority I’m determined to deliver on.
