Some of you may remember the question I asked the Prime Minister back in February about marine autonomy, particularly around the need for primary legislation to support the sector.
I’ve now received a response, but it falls short of what is needed. There is still no clear timetable for the primary legislation the industry has been calling for.
Without that legal framework, uncertainty remains and the UK risks falling behind in a sector with huge potential.
Marine autonomy presents a major opportunity for jobs, innovation, and growth. The Government must now bring forward the legislation required. I will keep pressing on this until they do.
