Last Friday I spent a couple of hours with the senior leadership team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust Derriford Hospital. I have regular meetings with the team which provides an opportunity for them to share news, updates and asks from the hospital and for me to raise issues that may have crossed my desk.
This time it was a great opportunity to see the progress with the build of the new Urgent and Emergency care building. It was the first time that significant changes were visible or rather the first time I’d seen large chunks of the old building missing having been demolished!! The team are awaiting final sign off from government but I’m confident we’ll see this new building in complete and operational as planned!
