I had a fantastic visit to Sparkwell All Saints Primary School, part of the Link Academy Trust, last week! The visit began with a useful catch-up with Mr Cole (and a cuddle with Chip, the School dog!) before having a tour of the school, where I was able to hear about their Green Tree approach which means that every child takes part in 90 minutes of Forest School each week.
I also spent some time answering students’ questions about my role as the MP. They had plenty of brilliant questions ranging from where I work to how many meetings I have in a day.
To round off the visit, I met with Ms Clements and Ms Sparkes to discuss the challenges around increasing screen time for young children and what more we can do to support healthier, more balanced habits.
Thank you to everyone at Sparkwell for the warm welcome and for the excellent work you’re doing to give young people such a rich, rounded education!
