Last night Labour MPs voted against exempting hospices, GPs, dentists and small businesses from their National Insurance hike.
I have warned about the irreversible damage this will cause to our NHS and local economy for months. That's why I voted for these exemptions.
I am not alone - St Luke's, Beacon Medical Group, Vospers and others all raised concerns about Labour's NIC hike when I met with them. It will mean cuts to key local services, lower investment, fewer jobs and weaker growth.
Even with the facts staring them in the face, Rachel Reeves and co have chosen to press on with their tax raid to save face. I am afraid that we will see more of the same in today's Emergency Budget.
