❌ Labour axe £7,000 in funding for adoptive parents ❌
Adopters provide loving homes and transform the life chances of children and young people up and down our country; the government should have their corner. It’s something I’m committed to.
The Labour Government have decided to balance their books off the backs of these incredible men and women, supporting the most vulnerable adopted children. Last week in Parliament I raised that in some cases this has meant a cut from £10,000 to £3,000 in match funding for the specialist support the most vulnerable need. I asked the Labour Children's Minister if she would consider reintroducing this vital support for adoptive parents.
I was disappointed by her scripted response which offered no reassurance for my affected constituents and failed to answer my question.
