Really pleased to see the Labour Government finally change their mind and back parents and teachers to ban phones in school. This comes after months of consistent pressure from the Conservatives and many others who’ve been raising concerns about this.
This has never been about telling parents how to do their job. It’s about backing families, supporting teachers, and making sure classrooms are places where every child can learn, free from distractions.
I’ve heard time and again from parents and staff locally that behaviour needs to be taken seriously so I’m glad common sense has prevailed in the end. It will make a real difference - even if it shouldn’t have taken quite so long to get here.
