Great to welcome Robbie Moore MP, the Shadow Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to the Plympton Conservative Club alongside Lord Roborough last week!
It was brilliant to see so many local farmers, volunteers and other businesses from our rural communities turn out to hear Robbie speak. There was plenty of discussion about the future of farming and what more can be done to support the industry.
Our Parliamentary colleague from the House of Lords also joined us. Lord Roborough is a key figure in the West Devon part of South West Devon and also serves as a Shadow Minister in the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs team.
I know farming is at the heart of so many communities across South West Devon, so these conversations really do matter. Our farmers work tirelessly to produce our food, care for the countryside and keep local businesses going despite the many pressures they face and we should be doing all we can to support them.
A big thank you to everyone who came along for such a brilliant evening! And a thank you to Robbie who left with a bottle of Plymouth Gin on his way back to Yorkshire!
